Girls’ Generation (Korean: Hangul – 소녀시대; Hanja - 少女時代) is a popular nine-member South Korean girl group formed by SM
Entertainment in 2007.
The people are, so as of announcement to
stay in the audience, Yoona, Tiffany, Yuri,Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Seohyun, Taeyeon
(leader), Jessica, and Sunny. They're generally known to as SNSD, the acronym from the
group’s Korean title So-Nyeo Shi-Dae approximately-Nyuh Shi-Dae, Chinese title
Shao Nü Shi Dai, Japanese title ShōJo JiDai. They're also known as SoShi the
abbreviation from the groups’ Korean title.
The group’s official fan-club is named as
SNE (소원) pronounced as “So-won” which means “wish” in Korean.
Girls’ Generation had their official debut
stage on August 5, 2007 using their first single “Into the brand new World”. The
audience has launched two albums as well as other singles, which continued to attain
commercial success. Their 2009 single “Gee” supports the
record for that longest-running #1 song on KBS’s Music Bank, at 9 days. That year also saw the women winning
various honours, including consecutive Artist of the season (Daesang) honours in
the Seoul Music Honours, Golden Disk
Honours, Melon Music Honours, and also the
Korean Cultural Entertainment Honours
